Walter was practically born on skis in Evergreen, Colorado 17 years ago. He was first noticed on the “Next Snow Search” at the ripe age of 11, and continued to make the “team” for the next 3 years. Walter’s talents came innately, but they continue to progress on daily basis. Walter loves skiing so much that he went to school year round to finish his high school career by the age of 16! Walter is best known for his spinning abilities. Last year, he landed a 1620 in the half pipe. A trick few stomp successfully; it also landed him in the top 10 at the US Open for Slopestyle. Be expecting BIG things from this fella. Walter won the World Skiing Invitational at Whistler, 2010.

1.) When was your 'breakout year' and how did it happen?

2008, US Open placed 7th in slopestyle

2.) What have been some of your toughest challenges this past season? How did you overcome them?

This past season was the 2014 Olympics, everyone had a lot of pressure but I just came back from my second torn ACL the season prior with only focusing on enjoying my feet being on snow again. I ended up skiing really well and just missing the Olympic Team.

3.) If you weren't a professional skier, what would you be doing?

Id probably be kite surfing. My friend Damien Leroy is a really cool dude I admire and sparked my interest for kite boarding

4.) Favorite Discrete product?

The Dayonator. One of Discretes first products and still one of my favorites.

5.) Who are some of your favorite people to follow on Instagram?

I like to follow my ski homies of course but also friends in other sports, some art, inventions and anything popping off on the IG!

6.) You slay it in the Park. Do you ever make it into the backcountry?

Oh ya.

7.) Which athletes did you admire most growing up, and who do you look up to now?

I really look up to the Nimbus crew like Chris Benchetler and Pep Fujas, ever since Matchstick Productions "The Hit List" ive admired their outlook on the mountains and ability to crush it from the park to the cliffs.
