Q&A

1.) When and where did you learn to ski? Who did you learn with?

I grew up skiing in Portland Oregon at Mt. Hood Meadows. I first got into it in 8th grade when my older brother started going up with friends. I was really into rollerblading at the local skatepark so freestyle skiing was the perfect transition! By freshman year of high school I had my first season pass and I became obsessed!

2.) Which athletes did you admire most growing up, and who do you look up to now?

Growing up, Eric Pollard was the most tangible since he lived near Hood. I would occasionally see him disappearing into the woods at Meadows and got so excited to see what sort of prototype skis he was riding each time. That was right about the time Sammy Carlson started getting big so he was our hometown hero. Nowadays I still look up to Wallisch for being such a down to earth and chill dude.

3.) Biggest thing you're attracted to?

Creative challenges.

4.) How do you manage to post daily on social media with your busy travel/ski schedule?

Well, I sit in an office most of the time, so it’s easy… haha, no but really, I thrive on capturing and editing photos so it comes naturally as my biggest hobby other than being outdoors.

5.) Who are some of your favorite people to follow on Instagram?

I’ve been really into some rad nature accounts lately - AndyBest is my most recent favorite. Brodyleven has some pretty awesome stories too.

6.) 20 years form now, what do you want to be remembered for?

Being an influential creative that provides inspiration and leaves a lasting impression on the global media landscape.

7.) What has been your most memorable moment so far?

Heli skiing in Chile with Chris Davenport, Travis Rice, John Jackson, and Lynsey Dyer was one of my most memorable trips in life so far. South America was such a new and exciting place and I was definitely humbled by my surroundings and the magnitude of the mountains.

8.) Favorite spot to surf?

Ocean Beach in SF on a REALLY good day, otherwise anywhere outside of Northern California is vastly more pleasant.
