Matt Fisher

the silkiest

Born and raised in Beautiful Utah! Been skating ever since I could walk, I used to bring my “deet” (deet was the name for my board when i was really little) everywhere. I even brought it with me when I went camping. Dedication since day one I say. Started aggressively getting into it when I was about 12. First deck was a Santa Cruz Fish Board. I loved that thing. Sponsors are; Discrete Headwear, Habitat, Coalatree Organics, Skate4homies, Dizm Eyewear, Bones Wheels, and Milosport. I love the outdoors, especially fishing. Baseball and basketball are sick too. Married to my wife Katelyn since February of last year, she is the best woman ever, I love her!!!

Q&A

1.) Who are some of your favorite people to follow on Instagram?

I really like to follow @metroskateboarding and @flatspotter, they always have the best videos coming out of skating.

2.) What have been some of your toughest challenges this past season? How did you overcome them?

I actually had an ankle surgery this past May, the 9th to be exact. Basically my ankle was wrecked from all the rolls it's been through. A 3 hour surgery and a two month recovery with no skating sure did the trick though. My ankle feels a million times better. I watched a ton of skate videos and though of a lot of tricks in the down time so that's how I was able to get through the surgery. I knew it would all be worth it to listen to the doctor attentively and do what he said.

3.) How long have you been skateboarding?

I've been on a skateboard ever since I could walk. But, aggressively skating... Almost 15 years

4.) Favorite Discrete product?

The discrete 5-panels they came out with over the last summer. Shits fire!!! Haha

5.) Favorite thing to do outside of skateboarding?

Hanging out with my wife, Kate. She's the best. I also I like to weight train and condition. I wanna be able to stay active for a long time and that's what I like to do too.

6.) What has been your most memorable moment so far?

Most memorable moment would probably having content in the CCS catalogs and the cover with all the homies. Super rad group of dudes.

7.) Which athletes did you admire most growing up, and who do you look up to now?

I always admired watching my dad skating when I was growing up, he was the reason I started skating. I admire a lot of people now; skateboarding has so much to offer as far as talent. I feel my favorite person to watch changes every week. Haha. So many talented individuals.

8.) Sponsors?
