Todd Ligare

Complete madman

Todd is a great skiing talent that enjoys taking air as much as he loves to charge down the mountain. First time Discrete saw Todd ski in a TGR flick a fews years back.. we thought, “who’s that dude sending it?” End up Todd lives in Utah, plays the bass in a band, and works at a pub/bar in Park City. He was nominated for Breakout Performer at the 2012 POWDER Awards! Watch for him always being a staple in TGR flicks. He has the ability to crush massive AK lines with Sage, drop insano airs with Julian and wax conversation with Dalai.

Q&A

1.) If you' weren't a pro athlete what would you be doing?

Skiing has been the common thread throughout my life. If I weren't skiing for a living I think I would still probably be doing something in the industry, like marketing or design work.

2.) What have been some of your toughest challenges this past season? How did you overcome them?

This past season I had a really bad crash in LaGrave France. I actually felt lucky because I was able to self arrest in a spot that was above a lot of exposure. Unfortunately it was the end of my trip and I had to sit out March, which is typically the best part of my season. The good news is I'm healthy now and I was still able to get back out there at the beginning of April and had an amazing day up in British Columbia.

3.) 20 years form now, what do you want to be remembered for?

My main goal is to just be proud of my content. I've always respected the timeless skiers like Doug Coombs and Kent Kreitler, you can watch their stuff now and it's still relevant. I hope someone will come across my video parts in 20 yrs and still be psyched on what we've done and what we're doing now.

4.) Who are some of your favorite people to follow on Instagram?

@willwiss - tons of AK photos @fluid_light - This is my older brother Scott, he's a gnarly kayaker and is often on cool adventures para-gliding and skiing too. @tetongravity - Proud to be part of this posse, they're usually posting good stuff.

5.) Whats your go to Discrete item?

My favorite item right now is definitely the Linux denim puffy

6.) What has been your most memorable moment so far?

My first heli run in Alaska I think will always stand out. I had been working hard to get there for a really long time and it totally lived up to my expectations.

7.) Favorite Apre's spot?

The Sitzmark at Alta. No ritzy shit there, just an old ski lodge with passionate skiers.

8.) Sponsors?

Discrete, Atomic, Smith Optics, Backcountry, Norrona
