Eric Crossland

Eric Crosland, Director of Sherpas Cinema, was born in Calgary Alberta. Growing up, the Rocky Mountains proved to have left an imprint of nature on Eric’s life that has manifested it self in his films.Over his career in the film industry he has created over 162 episodes of television, 10 feature length films and 2 broadcast commercials.

 

Q&A

1.) When did you begin filming?

I began filmmaking in the Canadian Rockies in 2001

2.) What have been some of your toughest challenges this past season? How did you overcome them?

The death of JP Auclair most recently .. hard one for everybody. Also had a trip to Greenland that had really shitty weather and we camped on a glacier in the fog with rain crust for 14 days . I nearly fell through a cornice and plummeted to my death but got hung up by my camera bag. I got through this by the great attitudes of the other on the trip.

3.) What is your favorite project you have worked on?

My favorite project I've worked on has been the on going development of Sherpas Cinema with Dave Mossop and Malcolm Sangster

4.) Favorite Discrete product?

The best Product of Discrete is the Doyonator Orange or black. It may best the best toque in the world. Its like a portable head massage.

5.) Who are some of your favorite people to follow on Instagram?

The best people to follow on Instagram are Renan Ozturk and Tim Kemple

6.) What lies ahead for you?

The future of sherpas cinema is to push all our chip into the middle of the table and bet on red.

7.) Which athletes did you admire most growing up, and who do you look up to now?

I admired Eric Hjorleifson when I was growing up ,(Eric gave me my first discrete doyonator way back) . Today Im inspired by JP Auclair

8.) Favorite moment?

I recently shot a Volcano in Iceland erupting. It was hot and crazy to see the raw power of mother nature spitting magma into the air, it was something ill never forget .
