Q&A

1.) When and where did you learn to snowboard? Who did you learn from?

I first learned to snowboard when I was about 13 at Bridger Bowl in Bozeman, MT. My older brother and his friends started snowboarding so I would try to keep up with them, but my cousin Jenn was hugely influential in my snowboarding career and spent quite a few hours with me when I first learned. She also gave me my first snowboard, that I ended up winning my first contest on!

2.) What has been your most memorable moment so far?

Two seasons ago, I had a great contest year. Made the podium at a large contest, then broke my tailbone at the following contest. Instead of quitting for the season, I persevered and not only competed in the US Open at Vail, but I then went on to have one of my personal best performances at Ms. Superpark 2013 the following week. I stacked a ton of shots and even got a full page shot in the writeup from Snowboarder Magazine.

3.) What do you prefer, park or backcountry?

I grew up riding the mountain in Montana, and didn't even know what a terrain park was until I moved to Utah a few years after I started snowboarding. So, the backcountry will always be where I'm rooted but riding the park has given my so many opportunities to pursue snowboarding as a career, and have relatively perfect conditions all the time, which the hardest part about riding backcountry in my mind.

4.) Favorite Discrete product?

Augend Snapback and the Women's Flannel Button Up

5.) Who are some of your favorite people to follow on Instagram?

National Geographic, Sherpas Cinema, and of course Discrete!

6.) 20 years form now, what do you want to be remembered for?

Having a blast, working hard, and inspiring those around me.

7.) Which athletes did you admire most growing up, and who do you look up to now?

I played soccer my whole life so Mia Hamm has been an inspiring lady in my mind and always will be. Now I look up to so many people its hard to specify. My peers inspire me every day to be the best I can be, and its an honor to be riding next to a lot of the pro girls I looked up to when I was young.

8.) Sponsors?

Gatorade, Burton, Discrete Headwear, Saga Outerwear, Phunkshun Wear, Vail Resorts, Shred Betties.
